Consumers Today Shop More with Mobile Devices

According to a report from Nielsen in late 2010, today's smartphone users make up almost 30% of the cell phone market. Based on recent years' growth patterns, it's fair to say that number is probably outdated now. With information available at their fingertips, consumers are turning to shopping apps and the mobile web to easily inform themselves and make the right purchase decision.

In a survey completed by Parago in November 2009, 65% of people had downloaded a shopping app or were interested in doing so in the following six months, and a recent survey by Greystripe shows that 66% of smartphone-using moms indicated that their mobile device plays a role in shopping.

From barcode scanners to rewards programs to apps like GoRebate Mobile, mobile shopping capabilities are giving consumers the right information at the right time and place: when and where consumers demand it.

Are you giving today's on-the-go consumers the information they need to purchase your product?
